"In Little Brats, the work that the artist has developed specifically for the EDP Foundation New Artists Award 2022, Proganó takes up the characters that inhabit her canvases and has imbued them, literally, with a corporeal form and a physical presence that they never had. We observe four figures who have broken loose from the shackles of painting - both as a discipline and, more importantly, as a medium for representation - to occupy that real, physical, three-dimensional space. But then, this isn’t just any space : it’s the realm of the museum, that ideological apparatus whose structural power prescribes not only what is considered art, but also who is an artist, what an audience is and how it should behave before artist phenomena. It is the museum that fabricates, legitimises, and reproduces notions of artistic, historical, and economic value, cultural heritage, and rarity. It is the museum that, in each present, prescribes what pasts are considered worthy of the future. It is nonetheless from within such a present constraints of two-dimensionality in order to roam loose throughout the exhibition space. Definitively outstripping the vagaries of institutional critique - as much in approach as in artistic intention - and acting within a totally liberated and instrumental conceptual sphere, these four figures run amok across the exhibition, ransacking the drained canvasses for their paint and leaving them void of content, signification, and value. They deface the artifacts whose scarcity pronounces incontestably its own guilty verdict, or otherwise create fissures in the very structural architecture of the museum itself, burying into it, destabilizing it, rendering it precarious, a space of hazard." - Fragment of Room sheet by Luís Silva
